Caral: The First Civilization in América
6:30 am: Our tour guide and driver will pick you up to take you to Caral. The trip to Caral by van takes approximately 4 hours.
8:30 am aprox: We will make a short stop to buy breakfast, snacks, go to the bathroom, or just stretch a little. (Purchases are self-paid.)
10:30 am aprox: We will arrive at the archaeological site of Caral.

- Although initially discovered back in 1948, recent excavations of Caral revealed an elaborate complex of temples, sunken plazas and some of the largest terraced pyramids in the world, leading archeologists to ponder the chance Caral being the fabled “Mother City” of ancient civilizations.

- Now open to the public, the site has garnered acclaim for its beautifully preserved ruins and intriguing collection of artefacts, which include a quipu (a unique knot system used by ancient Andean civilizations) and a number of musical instruments fashioned from animal bones, but definitely no trace of warfare or weaponry.
1:00 pm: We will finish the tour in Caral and return to Lima. On the way back, we will stop for lunch at a local restaurant. Lunch is not included, but we will help you to organize a meal in one of the typical restaurants in Caral. Lunch at these places is around S/.35 soles main course.
6:30 pm aprox: You will be back at your hotel
